YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
To foresight and analyze potential short and long-term impacts for IKEA of external developments connected to regulations and political-, societal-, ESG- and geopolitical shifts.
Translate these into strategic insights for business decisions and relevant actions.
With this role enable Ingka to engage early, influence and contribute to conversations leading up to e.g.
new or change legislation, safeguarding conditions for future growth.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Identify early risks and opportunities, systematically scan and track regulatory, policy, trade, geopolitical and societal development across EU and Breakthrough markets, as well as other markets on need base.
Build and maintain a structured overview of emerging risks and assess how they can impact our operations, expansion, growth plans and brand positioning.
- Provide forward-looking scenarios and insights to the business, identify early risks and opportunities by developing clear scenarios to understand potential outcomes and business impacts of suggested or planned legislative changes.
Further, translate complex regulatory and policy developments into simple and actionable insights for GM and leadership teams, enabling informed and timely discussions and actions.
- Strengthen and support strategic decision-making (e.g., expansion, investment, restructuring, sustainability commitments) with external risk analysis, stakeholder mapping and policy impact assessments ensuring that the external realities are taken into consideration.
- Enable proactive Public Affairs engagement by providing timely and relevant insights, analysis, and recommendations needed to influence relevant dialogues.
Thereby contribute to the policy agenda developments in areas critical to Ingka growth and IKEA brand trust.
WHO YOU ARE
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 10 years of experience working with external environment analysis, public affairs, regulatory or geopolitical monitoring in complex organisations.
- Skilled at identifying early risks and opportunities, turning complex external developments into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
- Experienced in developing scenarios, assessing business impacts and supporting strategic decisions with external risk and stakeholder analysis.
- A structured and collaborative person who connects external realities with business needs, enabling proactive engagement, clear prioritisation and long‑term planning.
