Job Description

As a Sourcing Leader, you enable sourcing optimisation across Purchasing Development by leading or supporting sourcing events across Category Areas.

You bring an independent and holistic sourcing perspective, ensuring activities are structured, fact‑based, and aligned with IKEA strategies, total cost, and long‑term supplier development.

Working closely with Category Teams and stakeholders, you support delivery of Category Business Plans by applying best practices, structured processes, and strong analysis.

You also connect across categories to capture synergies and strengthen how sourcing is executed.

What you will do

Sourcing execution & business support

• Lead or support sourcing events to optimise sourcing networks.
  
• Plan and secure end‑to‑end RFQ execution, including goals, criteria, timelines, and stakeholder alignment.
  
• Translate sourcing strategies into concrete activities with Category Teams.
  
• Support large or complex sourcing initiatives when needed.
  

Structured RFQ & decision support

• Ensure consistent, high‑quality RFQ execution.
  
• Analyse RFQ data, quotations, and cost breakdowns to build scenarios.
  
• Support fact‑based and objective decisions with stakeholders.
  
• Structure governance in cross‑category sourcing setups.
  

Cross‑category collaboration

• Identify and enable cross‑category sourcing opportunities.
  
• Coordinate across teams and functions to align priorities.
  
• Contribute to a global and holistic sourcing perspective.
  

Supplier & stakeholder collaboration

• Structure supplier feedback together with Category Teams.
  
• Support stakeholder alignment, planning, and readiness.
  
• Assess dependencies, risks, and supply constraints.
  

Continuous improvement

• Apply best practices and lessons learned in sourcing.
  
• Contribute to process improvements within the BPO framework.
  
• Highlight improvement opportunities in processes and tools.
  

Qualifications

Knowledge

• Understanding of IKEA business model, Supply Strategy, and value chain.
  
• Knowledge of sourcing, purchasing, and supplier development processes.
  
• Awareness of Category Plans and sourcing strategies.
  
• Understanding of materials, production, and supplier capabilities.

• Strong analytical skills to support decision‑making.
  
• Ability to lead with a holistic perspective (customer, cost, supply chain).
