As a Development Engineer within Ride & Handling, you will be part of a team shaping the driving character of our vehicles.
You will work closely with experienced engineers and the Attribute Leader, supporting the development and refinement of chassis performance.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will learn how to translate technical solutions into a balanced driving experience, contributing to how the vehicle feels in terms of comfort, control, and stability across different conditions.
What You'll Do
Participate in vehicle testing and contribute to subjective evaluations of steering feel, ride comfort, and vehicle stability
Support tuning and calibration activities for chassis components such as dampers, bushings, suspension systems, and steering
Assist in analysing vehicle behavior and identifying improvement areas based on test feedback and data
Work with cross-functional teams to support system integration between tires, suspension, and braking systems
Contribute to validation activities through simulation and physical testing in proving grounds
Support documentation, reporting, and follow-up of ride and handling performance throughout the development process
Identify potential issues and raise them within the team to support smooth project progress
Who You Are:
Minimum 2 years of experience within Ride & Handling, vehicle dynamics, or chassis development
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
Basic understanding of suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, and mechanical behavior
Experience from vehicle testing or development environments is considered a strong plus
Interest in both hands-on testing and analytical work
Eagerness to learn and develop within vehicle dynamics and chassis tuning
Structured and curious mindset, with good problem-solving skills
Strong collaboration skills and comfortable working in an international environment
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Valid driver’s license
Additional Information
The role includes travel as part of vehicle development and testing activities:
China: approximately 6–8 trips per year (2–3 weeks each)
Europe: approximately 2 trips per year
Sweden: winter testing in Northern Sweden, as well as testing at local facilities such as Hällered and Säve
