At Arrowhead, quality is a shared responsibility - but it needs clear ownership to truly scale.
Our QA function works closely with developers, production and external partners to ensure we deliver great player experiences, consistently.
We’re now looking for an Area QA Owner to take ownership of quality within a defined development Area.
This is a key role where you will act as the trusted QA voice, ensuring quality is embedded into planning, execution and decision-making across multiple teams.
You will work closely with Area Producers, Team Owners, Directors and the QA Manager to align priorities, identify risks early and ensure testing efforts - both internal and external - operate as one cohesive system.
As we increasingly rely on externally embedded Development QA, this role plays a critical part in ensuring consistent quality standards, clear communication and predictable delivery regardless of how testing capacity is sourced.
What You’ll Be DoingOwn QA outcomes within your Area - acting as the primary point of accountability for quality, risks and testing results across multiple teams.
Lead quality through collaboration and influence - partnering with Production, Direction and Developers to ensure quality is embedded into planning, execution and decision-making.
Define and drive Area-level QA strategy, test planning and coverage across development, release and live - ensuring priorities, scope and risks are clear and aligned.
Coordinate internal and external QA contributors as one cohesive team - setting clear standards, expectations and ways of working.
Act as the main QA point of contact for external Development QA, Co-Dev partners and other collaborators within the Area - ensuring alignment, context and consistent quality outcomes.
Drive visibility and decision-making through clear technical QA reporting, effective/impactful triaging, risk assessment, and tracking of systemic issues and trends.
Champion QA practices and a quality-first mindset across development teams - acting as a critical friend by supporting and challenging developers in finding effective, sustainable ways to ensure quality in their day-to-day work, including strong self-testing practices.
Stay close to the product through hands-on involvement when needed - validating assumptions, identifying risks and grounding decisions in reality.
We Think You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…Have solid experience in Development QA within game development, with a strong understanding of how to plan, structure and execute testing across all stages - including live service.
Are comfortable owning quality outcomes end-to-end, applying sound judgement to balance quality, scope, risk and delivery constraints.
Bring leadership through influence - aligning developers, producers and external QA partners around clear priorities, standards and ways of working.
Communicate clearly and proactively, turning complex quality topics into actionable insights that support decision-making.
Are comfortable giving constructive feedback to developers across all disciplines and seniorities, assertively driving improvement across teams to uplift quality.
Enjoy creating structure and driving continuous improvement, strengthening how teams collaborate, plan and deliver over time.
Are able to operate both hands-on and strategically - staying close to the product while guiding quality at a broader Area level.
Are collaborative, pragmatic and player-focused, with strong written and spoken English.
