For our customer, an international actor i shipping, are we looking for an Commercial Accountant located in Bergen.

Our customer is a solid company with long traditions from shipping and international trade.
The assignments for this position are:
- Ensure pool companies comply with the relevant accounting and tax legislation in their respective jurisdictions
- Monitor working capital and ensure efficient liquidity
- Assist Group accountant Manager with financial statements, audited accounts, tax assessments and any other reporting required for designated entities
- Follow up on changes in accounting and tax rules and law
- All commercial and operational financial result in close cooperation with operations and thirdparty service providers
- Responsible for voyage/pool accounting and reporting, including pool/TC reports on a vesselby-vessel basis
- Freight collection and responsible for all commercial accounts receivable
- Follow up on supplier related issues as posting, chasing and reminders
- Manage daily liquidity and bank reconciliations for the vessel operating pools
- General journal entries as requested and documentation of business transactions
- General reconciliations of all general ledger accounts, Xledger and VMS system (Dataloy)
- Interact with auditors in completing audits, tax returns and preparation of financial notes disclosure under simplified IFRS
- Suggest improvements in existing procedures to ensure good financial control
- Assure proper audit trail and appropriate documentation of all transactions and reporting
- Ad-hoc tasks requested by management, in consultation with Group Accounting Manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above within economics/accounting
- Good system knowledge, preferable Xledger and Vessel Management Systems
- Accounting experience
- Analytical minded, accurate and good attention to details
- Structured and organized, able to meet deadlines
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Norwegian
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Duration: 6 - 9 months.
Possibly longer.
