The International Department of Byens Steinerskolen/ Waldorf International school of Copenhagen is looking for two early years/primary
teachers to start in the 2024-2025 school year.
We currently need teachers for Class 0 and
Class 1.
While we prefer candidates to have a Waldorf Steiner education, we also encourage
teachers without a Waldord Steiner background to apply.
Interested candidates should have the following skills and dispositions:
- Contributes to student learning, growth, and advancement.
- Invests in the learners’ well-being, health, and safety, physically, socially, and
emotionally.
- Maintains a growth mindset serving as a role model and an innovative and creative
learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, personal growth, and being on the
cutting edge of Waldorf instructional practice and pedagogy.
- Recognizes the relationship between social-emotional learning and academic
performance, and aspires toward developing and teaching the whole child in the spirit
of Waldorf Steiner instructional practice and pedagogy.
- Demonstrates a high degree of self-reliance; holds themselves accountable for
learner outcomes and advocates for their students; works efficiently; and believes in
the capability of their students, and themselves, to succeed and excel.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current instructional strategies appropriate for students
at the specified grade level.
- Facilitates problem-solving, with a curious mind and critical thinking skills, showing a
high degree of creative application in the implementation of Waldorf Steiner
curriculum and practice.
- Collaborates effectively with administrators, teachers and parents to increase student
performance and contributes to development and implementation of Waldorf
education philosophy.
- Designs and facilitates differentiated and personalized learning goals and activities
that follow a coherent sequence and are aligned to the school’s instructional
philosophy and goals.
Education:
- Danish or International Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in education or related field
- Teaching credentials appropriate for the level of students being taught
- Recent teaching experience, coursework, or other activity in area of early years and
primary instruction
Salary according to the collective agreement for teachers employed at independent and
private schools.
