Software Architect for digital healthcare projects at Rigshospitalet

As an IT Software Architect, you will be at the forefront of transforming healthcare delivery by enhancing and scaling digital health applications.
The Center of Excellence for Health, Immunity, and Infections (CHIP) at Rigshospitalet employs over 80 staff members engaged in extensive research with operations spanning across various global locations.
Throughout more than a decade, CHIP has been on the forefront of developing and implementing personalized medicine for clinical practice.
Your role will be crucial in the integration of precision medicine into clinical practices through digital health applications.



We seek a forward-thinking architect for our digital health applications, ensuring our applications not only meet today's healthcare challenges but also set new benchmarks for innovation and patient care.

You will join a team of 12 skilled IT professionals, each specializing in key areas such as development, IT operations, and data management.
We adopt concepts from agile framework, embracing flexibility and adaptability.



Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Design and architect secure, scalable, and maintainable software applications utilizing best practices and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement technical documentation for software applications, including architecture diagrams, flowcharts, and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest software development technologies and methodologies.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior team members.


Your qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software development and design.
  • 3+ years of experience with the .NET framework (C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET).
  • Experience in designing and developing complex software applications using the .NET framework.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology.Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP), software design patterns, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Expert knowledge of the .NET framework, including C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Entity Framework.
  • Experience building and deploying .NET applications on cloud platforms like Azure (a plus).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

CHIP is an international research center at Rigshospitalet.
We are a dynamic interdisciplinary international group with approx.
80 full-time employees working in medical and public health research, IT development and data management, statistics and bioinformatics and other areas.
CHIP is a leading center in the development and coordination of international clinical and observational studies involving patients with HIV and other infectious diseases such as COVID-19, hepatitis, and tuberculosis, primarily from clinics in Europe.

Salary and employment conditions

The position is full time (37 hours per week) 2-year position with good possibilities for extension.
Salary and employment conditions follow the agreement between the Capital Region of Denmark and the relevant professional organization.

You will be employed in the Capital Region, Rigshospitalet.
The workplace is CHIP (Øster Alle 56, Parken) with reference to the IT Team leader.
