Føn Energy Services is a joint venture between the Norwegian industrial companies Akastor and IKM with the ambition of building a globally leading service provider in the energy sector.

Today, Føn has 80 employees and offices in Oslo and Tananger.

We are currently experiencing a vast increase in demand for our services and are seeking to grow our engineering team based in Stavanger.
The position will be involved in engineering work across all our business areas and work

Purpose of the Position

Conduct analysis and calculations

• Analysis and design of structures and equipment for the offshore and subsea industry
• Follow up the fabrication, mobilization and installation of the equipment you designed
• Linear and nonlinear analyses using Ansys Workbench
• Fatigue and life extension analysis
• Hydrodynamic calculations
• Perform hand calculations with Mathcad
• Prepare design reports

Partake in the renewable energy transition:

• Help our customers solve a wide range of challenges that arise when transition from traditional energy into renewables
• Partake in discussion on how we can tailor our service offering to match the demand rising in the energy transition Commercial development
• Work closely with some our most important customers and identify their needs
• Work closely with department lead to identify new commercial opportunities  
• Participate in discussion on how to develop our service offering and expand into new markets

Professional Experience / Qualifications

• Higher education (M.Sc / B.Sc) within mechanical, civil, offshore engineering or  other similar technical education
• Experience with FEA software (preferably Ansys)
• Structured way of working and strong analytical skills
• Curious and knowledge seeking
• Highly driven and motivated
• Collaborative and team player
• Ability to work independently
• Strong written and verbal Norwegian and English communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards such as NORSOK, DNV and Eurocodes is an advantage
