Avantor is currently looking for a motivated Research Technician Imaging to join the team in Mölndal, Gothenburg.
This Research Technician acts as the single point of contact for the imaging platform and

has a diverse package of responsibilities, such as checking lab equipment, training lab users, analyzing cells yourself and much more.

This role is a full-time, temporary position of one year, based at our customer site, AstraZeneca, in Mölndal.

Working hours

Monday - Friday, free to start between 6:00 - 9:00 and free to finish between 15:00 - 18:00, depending on when you started.

The team

This research Technician Imaging is part of a fun, helpful and open team that counts 8 to 9 associates.
This team belongs to our department Lab & Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking for

Education: Master’s or PhD in a scientific related field, such as Bioscience

Experience:

• Working with microscopy
• In a CCI – environment (Centre for Cell Imaging)
• With laboratory and cell work, with a focus on microscope techniques

Preferred qualifications

• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Effective communication skills in English; Swedish is a plus

• Attention to detail, organized and analytical

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Act as a point of contact for the imaging platform for service and IT
• Retain date in the platform and manage the database
• Define and enforce policies and rules such as best imaging practice, data retention and integrity
• Clean and maintain lab machines, such as filling emptying bottles
• QC activities (monitoring machine performance over time)
• Provide internal training to new lab users, on how to work with imaging equipment
• Maintain contact with Services technicians from other companies when something isn’t working appropriately
• Analyze cells, using imaging equipment
• Participate in a steering group with Scientist and project functions to provide the best possible service
