Site Manager

The Site Manager is to effectively manage the site-based activities of allocated contracts safely and efficiently, within budget and to schedule, consistent with Company Procedures, good practice and Statutory Legislation and to our contractual obligations.

Key Objectives:

Assist the Project Team in the management of the contract in all aspects of the following items, but not limited to:

  • SHE – Safety, Health and Environment
  • Budget
  • Programme
  • Client Expectations
  • Quality
  • Plant Management
  • Labour Control
  • On time project delivery through personnel management
  • Liaise with the Project Team to review and understand the Site Programme and Phasing including any site specific constraints.
  • Ensure all labour is adequately trained for the task and liaise with the SHE team for any necessary advice or
  • To ensure that prior to starting work, the Principal Contractor has supplied and signed a Safe Site Certification Sheet (Ground pressure document).
  • Ensure the Project Team approval is sought prior to changing any aspect of labour / plant / specialist packages when the project is live on
  • Provide support to Project Team at meetings as requested
  • To read and understand the Company's site, specific safety method, statement and risk assessments, and to ensure that its provisions are being effectively carried
  • To ensure that all employees and Company sub-contract employees attend the Principal Contractor's Site
  • Ensure all site operatives receive the Severfield
  • In all activities, ensure compliance with the Company Operating Procedures, Company Quality Assurance Procedures, Statutory Safety Legislation, good practice and our contractual
  • Manage and monitor the progress of the site activities and take action to ensure progressive deadlines are met in accordance with the programme requirements
  • Ensure all works under Severfield control in particular - steel erecting, welding, decking, precast concrete, paint touch up etc.

  • Review labour levels on an ongoing basis and keep to an effective and efficient
  • Review engineering resource on an ongoing basis and keep to an effective and efficient level.
  • Ensure RAMS / task briefings / lift plans / permit systems are in place and being worked to by operatives with particular emphasis being on the implementation of the necessary control measures.
  • Drive and deliver continual improvement on site with a strong focus on
  • Support the project Team in a management of specialist subcontractors g.
    painters, decker's, mobile crane etc
  • Ensure plant, equipment and PPE are being provided, maintained and utilised as appropriate and in line with company procedures and current
  • Keep records as required to protect the company's
  • Ensure all correspondence is kept as per the company's
  • Comply with the Temporary Works procedure which may include acting as Temporary Works Coordinator / Supervisor
  • To ensure that any areas of the site in which the Company employees operate are suitably segregated using barriers and signage and are maintained to ensure their safety and prevent trespass by other trades, the general public or
  • Ensure relevant site paperwork is complete and issued on a weekly basis to include – plant and labour return sheets, daily diaries and crane allocation
  • Ensure site shift patterns and working hours, as agreed with the project team, are adhered
  • Ensure compliance with Donseed system and those time sheets submitted for both subcontractors and direct staff matches Donseed
  • Ensure that all hire equipment is stored safety and off hired in a timely
  • Calling off deliveries as required – Ensure sensible levels of stock in accordance with build requirements and including bolts checks and recording of deliveries.
